ANTIQUE RIBBED GLASS & PINE WASHBOARD:
My mother used velvet soap on clothes, particularly shirts and socks, rubbed up and down multiple times to remove stains.
VENUS EGG INCUBATOR:
Fertile eggs were placed in the incubator with a regulated heat from a kerosene heater for 21 days before they were hatched and then they were hand-raised in a temperature controlled area, on maturity returned to the fowl yard.
PEA SCALES:
These scales were used to weigh hand-picked peas in bags for sale to the Adelaide Market.
BOX BROWNIE CAMERA:
Introduced in 1900, allowed people to take snapshots inside for the first time. Placed a spool of film in the box, fixed it, slid it into the box and fed it through until the first number showed in the view box (#1), could make the light low, or medium or high. Viewed the subject by holding the “box” near your chest and looking through the view - finder, then pressed the Tab.
